With just six weeks to go before the industry descends on Edinburgh, a new exciting conference session has been announced which explores the fusion between movies and video games.

With contributions from author Kate Pullinger and Velvetelvis founders, John “DJ” DesJardin and Rosanna Sun, ‘When Alice Met Elvis’ presents a unique melding of the latest thinking on true convergence and how it impacts on the creative process.

Kate Pullinger will speak about her award-winning project entitled 'Inanimate Alice: The Global Conspiracy",  a series of kinetic experiences: part game, part novel and part movie that depict the life of a girl growing up in the 21st century. Kate will exclusively reveal the world premiere of ‘Episode 3: Russia’ and explore the creation of interactive stories with gripping narratives involving game characters.

Velvetelvis, the first transmedia production house, featuring talent with over 20 years experience in Hollywood creating films such as Titanic, X-Men 3 and the Matrix sequels will be involved in sessions at both EIEF and EIFF (Edinbugh International Film Festival). John “DJ” DesJardin and Rosanna Sun, will be sharing their experiences at EIEF and will illustrate that the “fusion” of all potential commercial elements - films, games, music, books - creates new paradigms of creative expression.
