The EIEF Edge Awards - 21st August 2006
The 2006 EIEF Edge Award aims to reward titles which expand expectations of what games are capable of. Drawn from games reviewed by Edge over the past year, the shortlist rewards neither commercial success, nor necessarily popularity, but instead highlights those which have marked out innovative new paths or achieved new standards of excellence. This shortlist is then considered by an international panel of game industry insiders: people whose professional insight into games hasn’t dimmed their personal passion for playing them. Industry professionals will gather at The Jam House for the annual award ceremony and networking party.
The EIEF06 Networking Party - 21st August 2006 The EIEF06 Party, based at the Jam House on Queen Street and following the Edge Award ceremony, offers an unparallelled networking environment where those passionate about games can engage with like-minded people to do business, discuss the hot topics of the day, or simply drink, dance and unwind. EIEF06 invites guests to enjoy a diverse selection of entertainment throughout the evening with a demonstration from break-dancing specialists the B-Boys, live music from The Jam House favourites ‘The Flavours’ and an industry jam session with jazz group ‘Blue Mint’, featuring EIEF06’s very own chairman Chris Deering. Partygoers will also have the chance to rock out with Guitar Hero™ 2. Mixed with subsidised drinks prices and a DJ until the wee hours, EIEF06’s party is the hottest ticket of the year!
With all this for £195 + VAT per delegate, EIEF06 offers excellent value for your money.
The Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival gets to the cultural and creative heart of games. It provides two days of stimulating and forward thinking debate, great networking and the chance to understand just how games are changing, well just about everything in entertainment.
