Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival (EIEF) today announces the fun filled event line up for ‘
Go Play Games!’, a 1,280 square metre public arena dedicated to gaming.
Taking place from 10th – 14th August at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, ‘
Go Play Games!’ is the UK’s largest interactive expo that brings gaming to life and guarantees awesome experiences for everyone as well as a raft of prizes to be won across the 5 days.
Visitors to ‘
Go Play Games!’ will get the chance to experience life as a pop star with the eagerly awaited PS2® release
Singstar™: Popworld®. PlayStation fans can experience the new title
Buzz™ and also win prizes and gifts as part of PlayStation’s
Freedom promotion that will keep you playing all summer.
NVIDIA™, Jolt Online Gaming and
Interactive Gaming UK are flying the flag for PC gaming with a 16 player online-gaming tournament. The challenge will be hosted by Pro-gamer
Sujoy Roy, who will be on-hand to give gaming tutorials. Expect NVIDIA’s eye-popping visuals with their state of the art graphic cards and look forward to some hot and not-to-be-missed prizes here.

Go Play Games, the Festival also features a unique ‘
Game Screenings’ programme, which let’s you get close to your gaming heroes and meet the names behind the games. This year, the Game Screenings will get a touch of Hollywood glamour with world exclusive premieres for some of the next year’s most highly anticipated games, all taking their cues from the silver screen.

David Braben (Frontier Developments) and
Rachel Carpenter (Aardman Animations) are appearing to give a behind the scenes look at their cool collaboration which sees
Wallace and Gromit in their new gaming release Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, based on the cinematic release out in Autumn this year. ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ producer Mike Jacob (Buena Vista Games) will give an insight into the magical world of Narnia, discussing the game’s highlights and unique collaborative game design. And PlayStation will preview footage of their revolutionary
Eyetoy®: Kinetic game and
24™: The Game (based on the TV hit). Experts will also be offering advice on how to get a job in the industry through the Insider’s Guides strand of the Games Screening programme.
