Edinburgh Essays

Despite our love of crystal ball gazing, predicting games trends are difficult. To a degree that’s the way we like it. It’s the unpredictability that makes this industry such a challenge and proves the gamer is really in charge. In the last 5 years we have witness the maturing of the industry and seen gaming more recognised as an art form than ever before.

The Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival’s aim is to provide a forum for reflecting on the cultural impact of interactive entertainment, to provide a shop window for the industry to promote itself and for the industry to forget, just for a second, about ship out figures and next years forecasts and provide the forum for the industry to debate the issues that face us all.

To that end we spoke to some of the biggest hitters in the game to give us their visions for the future. This is what they had to say:
